Henry, is a short American story about how a dying and desperate female painter named Johnsy become optimistic towards her life under her friend Sue and an old painter Berman’s help. This story is quite similar with “The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin as a whole in terms of the usage of the point of view, poetic devices and the types of ending with a few differences. However, the themes of the two stories are totally different and this makes “The last leaf” to be outstanding and interesting.
